Four successful alumni who benefited from mentoring relationships will discuss how mentoring helped them along their career paths and what tips they offer on how to be a good mentor and/or mentee.

  Maureen O'Hara ('72), RN, BSN, OCN. Oncology Staff Nurse, Stanford Hospitals and Clinics. Maureen O'Hara graduated from USF's School of Nursing and has received national awards in oncology nursing "for excellence in skillful and compassionate care to cancer patients and their families." She has spent more than 20 years mentoring other nurses at her institution and in the community to become certified. 
Timothy Simon ('79), Commissioner with the California Public Utilities Commission. Commissioner Simon received a Bachelor’s degree in Economics from the University of San Francisco, and a Juris Doctor from Hastings College of the Law, University of California. He serves on many boards and committees concerned with utility issues on the national and state level, and he is an active member of several non-profit boards in the Bay Area community.
Ardian Zagari ('10), Founder of Dynamic Deeds. A Bay Area native and entrepreneur, Ardian Zagari graduated from USF with honors in 2010 with a major in Business and minor in legal studies. After graduation Ardian and two colleagues founded Dynamic Deeds, a boutique creative agency located in the Financial District. 
Sarah Hirsch ('11), Office Coordinator at Square. After graduating in May of 2011 with a B.A. in Communication Studies and a double minor in Child and Youth Studies, and Gender and Sexuality Studies, Sarah now works as the Office Coordinator at Square, a 200+ person San Francisco based start-up transforming the way people take payments.

This no-cost event is open to all USF alumni, students, faculty, and staff. Last day to RSVP is March 1.

The Online Mentorship Program provides USF students with an opportunity to connect with Mentors, who can give advice, information, and support. The student selects a suitable mentor among the USF Alumni, Faculty, or Staff who register for the program, based on shared interests, goals, and areas of expertise. Mentors can quickly and easily create a personal profile for the Online Mentorship Program by downloading their resume from LinkedIn.
