The hub of all the action! Pick up your registration materials, kick back and relax in front of the fire, or stop by for a complimentary snack and beverage.

Koret Access Work-out Classes (with registration badge)

3:30pm-10pm, Koret
USF's own world class fitness center! From spinning to aquatics, weights to intramurals, Koret Health and Recreation Center has it all. Your admission is free with registration for the weekend. Present your registration badge at the door for admission.

Welcome Reception
4pm-6pm, UC 1st Floor
Join us for a welcome reception to kick-off a weekend full of festivities.

Roller Skating
4pm-7pm, Koret Swig Gym
Lace up your skates and get ready to BOOGIE! Join your fellow USF'ers at Koret for an afternoon of skating. Complete with skates, fly music and dramatic lighting its time to get your skate on! Free of charge, see you at Koret!

Athletics Welcome Reception

Join your fellow Dons' fans and get ready for the 2012 Hilltop HoopSFest! Season ticket holders and athletic donors - pick up your benefit and ticket packages!

Come experience the excitement inside War Memorial Gymnasium as the USF community ushers in the 2012-13 basketball season. The lights will be down, the spotlights on, the fog rolling in, and the digital show in full effect as we highlight our basketball programs, including 3-point and dunk contests!

Thacher Gallery, Made in China: Ming to Mass Market / Ming Ren: Mysterious Ink World
10am-5pm, Thacher Gallery, Gleeson Library
The "Made in China" exhibit invites viewers to contemplate the porcelain tradition in high aret and the mass Market. While the "Mysterious Ink World" exhibit takes traditional Chinese calligraphy and landscapes in new directions. These exhibits are a must see!

Info Showcase: The 21st Century Legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.: Presented by Dr. Clarence Jones, Diversity Scholar Visiting Professor
11am-12pm, Fromm Hall, Xavier
The legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. is as relevant today as it was during the struggle for civil rights. Please join Dr. Jones, who served as speechwriter and counsel to Dr. King from 1960-1968, as he discusses how that legacy provides us with a potential oasis for enabling public discourse, and practical programs that foster and encourage non-violent resolution of community, national, and international conflicts.

Presenter - Barbara Thomas. The initial excitement of the first weeks has passed and the reality of college is setting in for most new students. They may actually be ready for your input now! Learn about the first six weeks' experience, typical issues at this time of year, potential changes in your student which you may be catching a glimmer of, and what to do to prepare for their visits home over break.

Decision 2012 Featuring: Professors Patrick J. Murphy and James L. Taylor, moderated by Teresa Moore

Join leading USF faculty and current students for a lively nonpartisan discussion of the 2012 Election, followed by questions from the audience. Panelists will provide context for the current campaign, review how the election is playing out in key states, and predict what we can expect on Election Day.

What really separates world class performers from everybody else? Join head Baseball coach Nino Girratano and USF baseball alums, with MLB experience as they discuss today's game.

 

USF a History Walking Tour with USF Historian Alan Ziajka

Join USF's resident historian Alan Ziajka as he leads a historical walking tour of USF. From main campus to Lone Mountain and everything in between.


Bon Appetit- Behind the Scenes Tasting

Join Holly Winslow and Chef Marco Alvarado on a culinary journey. Learn about Bon Appetit’s commitment to food fresh from farm to table while sampling several of chef's latest creations. This is an event not to be missed!

Casa Open House

Stop by the newly-renovated third floor of the University Center to learn more about the new Center for Academic and Student Achievement (CASA).  From hosting Student Success Workshops, providing one-on-one academic coaching, processing academic forms, and helping develop 4-year graduation plans, CASA is here to help your student be more successful!

Presenter - Garvin Lee. This session will provide insight into study abroad options, eligibility requirements, finances, and services offered by the Center for Global Education. Study abroad alumni will also be available to answer questions and speak about their experiences.

Info Showcase: Internships: Your Student's Secret Weapon To A Successful Career
3pm-4pm, Cowell Hall Room 106
Presenter - Alex Hochman. In this informative presentation, Assistant Director of Career Services and Internship Coordinator Alex Hochman will discuss the importance of internships as related to both post-graduation employment and graduate school. Multiple internship resources will be presented including UCAN, an exclusive 22 school nation-wide internship consortium. Hochman will also break down the realities of paid vs. unpaid internships.
